Set in a port town in a certain provincial city, Haruki Nao is a general internist working at a municipal hospital. Due to trouble caused by her problematic older brother, Ryosuke, she took a roundabout path to finally become an internist, a profession she had long desired, and three years have passed. However, the work of a doctor is far more demanding than she had imagined, and she is exhausted both mentally and physically. One day, she is assigned to the case of a young girl, Eri, who is suffering from a serious illness. Eri has an older brother, Sonoda Shuji, who works tirelessly at a shipyard to support his sister. Moved by Shuji’s love for his sister, Nao explores various treatment methods to save Eri and actively becomes involved with the two of them. As a doctor and a brother supporting the girl, Nao and Shuji gradually grow closer. However, their relationship is a “forbidden love,” and it comes to an end after a certain incident.
